I know “Top 12” isn’t a thing, but I had a tough enough time narrowing this list to twelve, let alone ten. Besides, if you want to go all out, you could buy every book on the list and Mom would have something for each month of the year!
You know your mom deserves it. Heck, she probably changed twelve diapers in a day for you as a newborn. But, no guilt here.
These run the gamut from self-help, biography, and prayer aide to romance, mystery, and literary fiction. Click through the titles below the image to read the descriptions!

Thanks for including my book on your top 12 list! I’ve read several of the other ones too: The Grace Crasher, A Life Such as Heaven Intended, Fatima: The Apparition That Changed World, Image and Likeness, and Julia’s Gifts.
They are truly awesome choices for a Mother’s Day gift!
If you have any other good suggestions, feel free to add them. It was hard to choose.
I’m the (volunteer) librarian at a Catholic church, and I’m happy to see your recommendations. We depend heavily on donations of books, but occasionally I get a cash donation for purchasing some. I’m especially happy that your recommendations are books by women!
Thank you, Susan! I’m so glad you found the list helpful. And how great that you volunteer to run the church library. It’s a great service to the parish.
Thanks for mentioning my novel The Grace Crasher! The ebook should stay at 99 cents through Mother’s Day. Part of the novel is about a mother/daughter relationship from the daughter’s perspective. It does have some tough conversations between the two of them, as the mother is married to an alcoholic.
Perfect timing for a sale! Thank you for commenting on that.
Love this list! I would add “Jesus Approaches” by Elizabeth M. Kelly. One of the best books I’ve read … ever.
Thanks, Sarah. I’ve never heard of that book. I’m going to go look it up!
What a great list! I know there are several on here that I have read and others that I would love to read. Thank you for including my book, Fatima: The Apparition That Changed World .
You’re welcome, Jean! Your book is so lovely and makes a great gift for almost any occasion.
