Summer Garden Tour Edition
We buried my mother this week and returned home to what seemed like endless days of rain, gloom, and flash flooding. And yet, the sun rises. The flowers bloom. The butterflies flit from flower to flower.
Life is good.
God is good.
Our garden brings no small measure of unadulterated joy.

These are AMAZING! How much money would it take for you to come over an redo our garden or lack thereof?
I’ll ask my husband if he’s willing to consult. We had the garden center down the street draw up some basic designs and recommend plants based on what we wanted. (native plants, flowers to attract butterflies, privacy, etc.) They did that for free, and we purchased most of the flowers/trees/plants there. We bought and scavenged rocks. And added a few plants from a local native plant sale.
These things grow like CRAZY, so we could easily thin some things out and give your some plants. Just have to figure out what season is best for that – spring or fall.
We went from boring grass to this, and we love seeing all of the birds, butterflies, and other critters it attracts. I much prefer being on our patio to inside our house!
I am sorry to hear about your mom. That is always hard.
Your orange cone flowers are spectacular! I have to say I have cone flower envy. My purple ones grow like crazy, but the others either get choked out or just plain die. And, of course those are the ones that are my favorite. Beautiful gardens you have!
Thank you both for the condolences and the compliment on the garden. I do love that orange color. It’s different!
So sorry about your mom.
I like the little elves in your garden. I keep meaning to have my kids go out and build a fairy house in ours and your post just reminded me that we haven’t done it yet!
Thank you. My 10-year-old has been making fairy dresses out of dead blossoms and writing signs on leaves. 😂
Gorgeous. Soothing. Casual elegance.
